Lon has lived in Oakland’s Lake Merritt neighborhood for more than twenty five years. His successful international career as Lloyd’s of London agent included investigating and settling complex maritime and transportation claims involving many millions of dollars. The qualities that he developed were perfect for his real estate career– astute analytical skills, an ability to read people and situations that were not readily apparent to others and an eye for detail. In addition, as a third party administrator, Lon was entrusted with large amounts of other people’s assets, again similar to his real estate practice.

Entering the real estate profession as an investor, Lon honed his skills rehabbing properties, maintaining rentals, and buying and selling properties for his own portfolio. Lon has great insight in the vacation home market and tax deferred 1031 exchange properties.

Lon acquired his real estate license and worked in both Piedmont and Rockridge Real Estate offices prior to joining Bay Sotheby’s International Berkeley office. Lon has earned his SRES Designation, a specialty helping empty-nesters downsize or prepare for active retirement living. He truly understands what is required to prepare a home for sale including updating, staging and how to strategically price a property.

Lon brings added value for home sellers. His experience in building trades and current ownership in a home design and Staging Company (click staging menu above), allows Lon a unique ability to prepare and stage homes to obtain maximum value for sellers.

Lon was recognized by Diablo Magazine as 2012, 2013, 2014 Top Five Star Real Estate Agents in the East Bay, based on Outstanding Customer Service and Client Satisfaction.

Lon is the former Master of Ceremonies for The Clarewood Singers and performs frequently throughout the Bay Area. He is also a charter member of Festival Opera in Walnut Creek. He frequently volunteers for community activities, particularly those involving seniors. He is Red Cross Certified in CPR and First Aid.

Lon is a Member of the National, California, and Oakland Association of Realtors.
